New exposition about fish species of the Gauja National Park

In November a new informative and educational exposition was set up. It is a showcase showing 14 fish reproductions living in the waters of the Gauja River. Thus, Gauja National Park Foundation has carried out a project which will help to inform about the large variety of fish you can find in the Gauja River. Fish reproductions are cast from moulds of real fish so that they show the fish in their real size and colours. The project was financed by the Rural Support Service.

In the showcase aquarium you will find fish reproductions of perch, chub, grayling, roach, bleak, bream, stone loach, river lamprey and, of course, the one of salmon. The exposition can be seen from both sides - from the inside and outside of the Visitor Centre. To complement the exposition, video presentations will be shown on a screen.
