Family Growth in Lynx Family

For the first time in the history of Līgatne Nature Trails lynx cubs born there. The happy parents are – mother Leonora from Kalvene and father Villijs-Incis from Estonia. Lynx mother was hiding  the young hard since their birthday on 22th of May. For several weeks only animal care takers knew about the existence of the cubs, however they failed to see the young lynxes or take a photograph. One of the most predatory inhabitants of the mother nature are very precautious and, as it is typical of animals of the cat family, are not used to reveal their daily runs and life. Visitors, who are attentive and behave in a silent and quiet way, can see lynx also during the daytime, when they are sleeping on torn out tree roots in the middle of the enclosure or playing just around their house.

We kindly ask not to yell and shout, as well as not to miaow, because lynx is not a house cat and will hide more from such noises. We ask not to disturb the lynx family, do not throw pieces of trees, cones and garbage in the enclosure. Let us the young lynx grow up and let us watch them with care!
