Discover the surroundings of the Gutmans Cave!

New information boards were set up on June 7th. They inform about the natural values of the surroundings, the history of the Serpentine Road and how the old valley has changed.

The Project “Atklāj Gūtmaņalas apkārtni!” (Discover the surroundings of the Gutmans Cave) has been carried out with co-funding of the Sigulda Region Council.

The goal of the project is to collect information and prepare visual material about the values, which can be found around us – natural values, cultural-historical places, as well as witnesses to past events.

The information board “Gutman’s Cave Dwellers” is a useful nature exploration guide for all the inhabitants of the region, especially for schoolchildren and the guests of the city, providing information about plants and animals which are found on the sandstone.

The information board about nature values informs how the landscape of the old valley has changed in the surroundings of the Gutman’s Cave over the years.

The information board by the Serpentine Road will let the visitors know how the road has changed historically, as well as, which were the most important events that influenced the development of the surrounding area.

Everybody is welcome to come and get to know about the surroundings of the Gutmans Cave!

The project was carried out by the staff of “GNP Information Centre”, Nature Conservation Agency and Sigulda residents.
